Partnership
Working in partnership with related organizations is one way that the CCHRSC
develops an understanding of the needs of the sector and projects that respond
to those needs.
Our partners include the two pan-Canadian child care organizations and the
major unions representing child care workers. We also participate in joint
initiatives with other organizations whose work has an impact on the child care
workforce.
Child Care
The Canadian Child Care
Federation (CCCF) is a national non-profit organization that is committed to
achieving excellence in early learning and child care. CCCF's membership
includes over 21 provincial and territorial affiliate organizations and 11,500
individual members, including early learning and child care practitioners,
academics, parents and policy makers.
Unions
The Canadian Union of Public
Employees (CUPE) is Canada's largest union with over half a million members,
12 divisions and 2,200 local unions. It is the union with the largest child care
worker membership outside of Québec.
The National Union of Public and
General Employees (NUPGE) is comprised of 15 component unions and is the
second largest union in Canada. Most of its 325,000 members deliver public
services to the citizens of their home provinces.
Joint initiatives
The ECE Affinity Group is a joint initiative of the
Association of Canadian Community Colleges and the CCHRSC The group brings
together individual members of the ECE public post-secondary training community
to share ideas, best practices, and current trends and issues. The group
occasionally organizes joint activities to explore and promote their common
interests. To join or learn more, click here.
