Research Unit (CRRU): This organization focuses on child care research and
policy resources. It houses a wealth of information and studies on child care
in Canada and around the world.
- Child
Care Policy.net: This site features research on child care policy and the
economic impacts of, and arguments for, early learning and child care.
- Centre of Excellence
for Early Childhood Development(CEECD): This organization focuses on
scientific knowledge about the social and emotional development of young
children, and the policies and services that influence it.
- The Child Care Advocacy
Association of Canada (CCAAC) has produced recent studies that include:
- Canadian Child
Care Federation: Research Connections Canada Series: This bilingual
occasional publication series contains an anthology of current Canadian early
childhood research and development papers.
- Integration
Network Project: This organization explores policy options needed to bring
about the integration of education and child care for children of kindergarten
age.
- Organization
for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD): This organization has a
web site that reviews the early childhood policies published by 20 countries
between 1998 and 2004. On the site, entitled Early Childhood and Education and
Care, you will find the Canadian Background Report in English
and in French.
- SpeciaLink: This
resource and research helpline provides personalized responses to specific
questions, referrals to other organizations, and sources of help, information
and technical assistance to young children who have special needs and their
families.
- Westcoast
Child Care Resource Centre: This organization, based in British Columbia,
maintains the province's most comprehensive collection of materials on child
development and early childhood education and care.
